Centerbase Program
Early Stages Centerbase Program is dedicated to providing quality infant/toddler development services to children and their families. We focus on providing services to children with developmental delays in any and all areas of development, as well as children with established risk conditions as determined by a qualified clinical team.
The program is applicable to children ranging in age from eighteen months to thirty-six months. We also offer services for Parenting Skills, which complements our Centerbase Program.
The Early Stages Centerbase Program is an Early Intervention Service designed to assess the needs of exceptional infants/toddlers, and to develop and execute a program to respond to those needs, as designated by the Individual Family Service Plan. Our comprehensive approach is based upon known principles of growth and development.
The Centerbase Program provides a structured routine for the children. There are four learning centers with small group direct instructions. Each child rotates from one learning center to another, with his/her respective group during the day. We make use of a myriad of specific activities to enhance progress in each of the basic developmental domains: physical, cognitive, communication, social and emotional, and adaptive.
Documentation and evaluation are ongoing. Early Stages Centerbase Program is committed to family empowerment. We seek to achieve this goal by enhancing family skills in areas such as: problem solving, advocacy, and information access. Existing support systems are utilized to build and implement collaborative support networks for each family on an individual basis. The Individual Family Service Plan prescribes both short-term and long-term goals.
An important part of our program is parent involvement. Each parent is requested to participate in our parent group sessions. Parents are encouraged to participate in the program activities. Parents/caregivers are given the opportunity to learn how to work effectively with their child.
Parents/caregivers will be shown and given information and instructions on all developmental areas/skills, concerning their child. Parent group sessions will be structured to give parents a support system, enhance their parenting skills, and self-confidence. Parents/caregivers will become more knowledgeable about community resources that are available.
The high standards of the Early Stages Centerbase Program are ensured by our dedicated Quality Assurance staff. A Quality Assurance team member makes periodic visits to assess the progress of each consumer, evaluate the program staff, and ensure that the parents and/or caregivers are active participants in the program.
