Learning Disability Assessments (Ages 5–17)

Designed to answer the question:

“Why is my child struggling in school, and what support do they need?”

Comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations that examine a child’s cognitive abilities, academic achievement, and learning profile to identify specific learning disabilities (such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia).

These assessments go beyond basic testing to provide a clear understanding of how a child learns, where breakdowns are occurring, and what supports will be most effective.

This evaluation may assess:

  • Intellectual functioning (e.g., reasoning, memory, processing speed)
  • Academic skills (reading, writing, math)
  • Attention and executive functioning
  • Learning patterns and processing strengths/weaknesses

Outcomes include:

  • Identification of Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD)
  • Diagnostic clarification (e.g., ADHD vs. learning disorder vs. both)
  • Individualized recommendations for school and home
  • Documentation that may support IEP or 504 Plan eligibility
